Radio drama pre- production

Radio Drama preproduction

The script
Before the recording of the radio drama we had to make sure we edited the script, the reasons for this was because the script was originally from a live performance so this meant taking out the songs that were originally in the script. Once this was done we had to turn the lyrics from the song into script so no vital parts were missing in the plot of the radio drama. When doing this we annotated the script so we could plan out what to add in in the editing stage this made the editing process a lot easier for us as a team.

Foley sounds
when editing the radio drama we added a lot of Foley to enhance the radio dramas effect on the target audience and also make it a great experience for them. Re watching the original live performance helped us a lot because we could see if we can use any Foley that existed in it but also create more for our radio drama. We followed our annotations on the script on where to put the Foley sounds, this helped us because we then didn’t need to go through and figure out where certain things would go. Also when creating the radio drama we could use Foley sounds from the internet which are free and easy to download.

Editing the radio drama
As I was editing the radio drama, I needed to make it a priority that it ran smoothly and also flowed with the script as this would enhance the audiences end opinion of it. To make sure it did this I listened to it a number of times and also followed the script when doing so. When going through it I noticed numerus gaps of silence as the characters switched through their lines, so I filled these in with little background noises not just so it wouldn’t ruin the flow of the radio drama but so the audience wouldn’t be confused. The editing software I used was logic pro, when doing this I labelled every character so I could keep everyone’s lines organised and in order. Throughout the editing phase I also adjusted the grain so it would sound as if people were shouting from a long distance when they were actually in the same room. In the end of the editing phase I added clapping in which I found from the website in the like above.

Unit 10 production essay

Horror  The genre I have chosen is horror, I am going to analyze ‘IT’ and ‘The Purge’. I have chosen these films because they are good examples and carry on the same type of things.   The film ‘IT’ is the story of a boy called Georgie who is out in the rain and meets the clown in the sewer   Who in which is a danger to society as we known because this is a remake that the clown eats children Throughout the film we see the clown terrorizing numerous children in their comfort zones, creating a ripple effect into their lives and which sends the terrorized children onto a mission to defeat the clown ‘IT’. Pennywise relates to the typical steriotypical imaginations of what any person would think a monster would look like, his costume and makeup would initially show the audience that the film is going to be scary. The use of dramatic music in the film initially gives the audience visceral pleasures and the build up that something is going to happen also the lighting...
